Sharyland Utilities
Sharyland Utilities, L.P., is a privately-owned, Texas-based transmission and distribution electric utility. It is a pure “wires only” company with no interests or affiliations with Retail Electric Providers (“REPs”) or electric generation in Texas. It simply owns and operates the wires infrastructure that carries the electricity from generators to the end-use customers.
Sharyland Utilities’ current service territory is located along the Rio Grande border in the South Texas cities of Mission and McAllen.
Sharyland Utilities is owned by Hunter L. Hunt and other members of his family and managed by Hunter L. Hunt.
Sharyland Utilities is also affiliated with a group of privately held companies, including Hunt Power and Hunt Transmission Services, which are wholly owned subsidiaries of Hunt Consolidated, Inc. (“HCI”). HCI is a diversified holding company directed by Ray L. Hunt, with its major subsidiaries engaged in oil and gas exploration and production, real estate development, electric power, ranching, agriculture and private investing.
